The Benefits of Being Organized.  You will hear people say that they have to get organized, but what are the actual benefits of being organized? Being organized means more than just having a neat and tidy home.  Below are the top benefits of being organized.

  • Reducing Stress. Being organized in your life, will significantly reduce stress.  If you have a filing system for your papers, you will always know where things are.  This can be as simple as a filing folder, file cabinet or you can scan your important papers and save them online using OneDrive or Dropbox as an example.  When you need something, instead of running around frantically, you just go to your filing system.

  • Being Prepared. Continuing with having a filing system, you will want to have a day planner to keep your appointments and kid’s activities in. Plus, you can keep a to do list for things that you need to do.  Each day, you don’t have to worry or stress about your schedule because you have planned ahead. Being prepared will save you a lot of time. Having your paperwork organized will definitely help at tax time.

  • Time to Relax. When your home is organized, it is a lot easier to clean. This saves time and the frustration of running around to clean the house when you are having company. Now you can just enjoy your time with your friends and family.  Even if you are not having company, having a clean and organized home creates less anxiety over what needs to be done. Not having to spend hours running around cleaning or searching for something, gives you more time to relax.

  • More Time with Your Family. When you are organized and the house is clutter free, you are able to spend quality time with your family.  Instead of thinking about everything that needs to be done, you are enjoying the time you have with your spouse and children.

  • Save Money. When you are organized, you know what you have so you are not wasting money on items you already have.  When you can’t find something that you need, if you are not organized, it is easier to just go and buy it.  This can become costly if you continue to buy items that you already have.

  • Become Healthier. Now you have the time to take care of yourself, by exercising and eating healthy.  You have the time to prepare home cooked meals.

  • Everything is Manageable. You are not as overwhelmed with life.  It is refreshing to know what you need to do whether it is errands or work, that having a plan in place it is easier to get things done. Also when life “happens”, which something always seems to come up; you will be able to focus on the challenge and deal with it better.

  • More Productive. When you spend less time trying to find things, figure things out and doing busy work, you will be able to get more things done in less amount of time.

  • Good Example. If you have kids, you will be a good example for them.  When you are organized, you are teaching your children how to live an organized life and achieving goals.

Overall being organized can make a person happier.  When you don’t have to use a lot of time and energy focusing on all of the clutter and what you have to do, you are able to enjoy life more.  If you have a lot of clutter, start with one room at a time and begin to organize each room.  By the time you are finished, you will feel better with being organized.
